Super Talent Childcare celebrated Chinese New Year 2021 amidst COVID restrictions. Celebrations were held at the main hall of the centre; teachers arranged decorations for the celebrations. Teachers displayed items traditionally featured during Chinese New Years for example firecrackers and lanterns (for display), an authentic Lion Dance costume head, and sweet meats like pineapple tarts and love letters. Teachers explained the traditions of Chinese New Year Festivities to children, and read a Mandarin book on a little girl celebrating Chinese New Year with her family to explain the traditions to the children. Children were also given the opportunity to explore with the Lion Dance costume with the drums and cymbals, and the lanterns. Children sampled the traditional Chinese Sweet meats during tea time. What a great way to start the celebrations!
